Gambia National Park
Explore the River Gambia National Park and experience some of The Gambia's most impressive wildlife. The park is particularly famous for its chimpanzees, which can be observed in their natural environment, along with red colobus monkeys, Guinea baboons and hippopotamuses living around the islands and waterways of the park. Wassu Stone Circles
Take a journey inland from Morgan Kunda Lodge to the ancient Wassu Stone Circles, one of the most fascinating cultural and historical sites in The Gambia.
The stone circles form part of the UNESCO-listed Senegambian Stone Circles and provide a fascinating glimpse into the region's ancient history.
This is primarily a cultural and historical excursion rather than a dedicated birdwatching trip. However, the journey through the Gambian countryside provides opportunities to see birds along the way, particularly in areas of woodland, farmland and open savannah.
Local Village & School
Experience a more personal side of The Gambia with a visit to the local village of Jaijari and school supported by the Morgan Clark Foundation.
Meet local people, learn about everyday life and traditions, and, where possible, spend time with teachers and pupils at the school. Funds from these visits help support the Foundation's work with the school and wider community, making this a meaningful way to connect with local people while contributing to a worthwhile project.
